SOME OF GURU’S THOUGHTS ABOUT THE SECOND US ONLINE DHARMA MEETING (Đôi lời tâm sự của Thầy trong buổi hạnh ngộ lần thứ hai của Mật gia Mỹ quốc)

chanhtuduy.com: Today, we held the second US online Dharma meeting with 42 learners in attendance. We were honored with the presence of holy Guru Thinley Nguyen Thanh. Guru bestowed upon us some guidance and advices so that we can make progress on the path of enlightenment. Here is his teaching.

(Some of Guru’s thoughts about the second US online Dharma meeting)

Hello everyone my learners!

It doesn’t matter where you come from. Only one is sense: you are learning Pure Mind Yoga, you are my disciples, so I have a spiritual responsibility to you. I’m deeply moved by you for putting in a lot of time on studying Dharma. I feel we’re getting closer although you are very far from me.

I feel we’re getting closer although you are very far from me.

I was impressed by your Dharma’s meeting last month. Today I’m happy to see you. I know that it is difficult to explain my thoughts on the words. Why? It’s because my English’s not good. I have been studying English for only one year, I recognize that English is useful for me, but it isn’t easy! At past time, I wasn’t interested in learning English but today I am doing and I will. I only can speak English but I don’t listen very well. I usually think that well begun is halt done, so I am constantly trying to improve.

Dear learners,

The time flies as arrow so don’t be a waste of time. I noticed that you diligently study Dharma but it’s just the beginning step. My six spiritual methods are easy to practice and very effective; and they help practitioners get (1) Inner happiness, (2) Things are going smoothly and (3) Success in society

They include:

1/ Eight Dharmas of Taking Refuge in the Three Jewels (Eight paths leading to the true nature of Mind)

2/ Samyagdrsti-prabha Samadhi (The light of wisdom got from right meditation through penetrating right view.)

3/ Uninterrupted Offering

4/ Lotus Walking Dharani

5/ Meditation on Bodhicitta

6/ Five Degrees of Cherezig meditation and Dharani

Tantra Mahacita

It is easy to you. It doesn’t require you a lot of time, any another condition. It suits busy person. And now I want to give you a few advices:

1/ In my opinion, you should read articles on my Dharma’s website (chanhtuduy.com), you come there round once a week. Please, comment after reading. Thanks to that, I know how you understand about the articles. Thanks to that, you are equipped with right view. You are going to come to right action thanks to right view. Without right view, you have no happiness whatever you do.

2/ All your learning from my Pure Mind Yoga will work if your daily life is getting better than past time. For example, you will get more comfort and pleasures when you eat, you sleep, you work, you relax. In short, you are comfortable and convenient. It means you apply everything from Dharma in daily life.

3/ You can use two of my methods to practice Dharma for getting benefits. They are 1) Lotus Walking Dharani, (2) Meditation on Bodhicitta. I think it easy for you and teacher Violet had taught you

4/ Don’t be absent from your Dharma’s meeting any time.

Try your best please! In short again, I don’t want to give lecture to you, I only want to pour my heart out. I hope you well listen to me and follow me. I pray all you the best in your life, especially spiritual life! Thank you very much for listening my confession!

Thank you so much for your listening my advice.
Now I’ll hand you over to Tantra Mahacitta (Robert Clayton) back in the meeting.

Thinley Nguyen Thanh.

  7. Cao Diệu Mật Hoà says:

    Dear Holy Guru!

I am delighted to imagine the atmosphere of the second US online Dharma meeting thanks to your teaching, the pictures and the sharing from dharma brother Cao Dieu Dieu Hang.

When I listen to your speech to the American dharma brothers. I feel joyful, moved and admired because of your Bodhicitta towards all of us. I realize with everything you have built up during the past nearly 30 years, it is enough for us to follow and practice until the ultimate enlightenment, so it is enough for you to stop working to relax and enjoy your own life. But you have never once stopped. The learner should be the one who has to learn the language of Guru in order to understand and learn the Dharma, but you are the one who always tries hard to learn foreign languages to create an easier path for all sentient beings. The learner should be the one to find a way to meet the Guru, but you are the one who actively takes advantage of 4.0 technology to make the opportunity for us to easily meet you, even a hemisphere away.

Through this article, I once again feel that our path to the city of Liberation has been so easy thanks to the Six Spiritual Methods created by your Wisdom and Bodhicitta. Therefore, I understand that any difficulties, if any, may only come from ourselves, due to insufficient faith and devotion, not being steadfast enough to overcome the Eight worldly winds, the Five desires, not being strong enough to overcome the barrier of self-cherishing.

I praise the virtues, wisdom, and Bodhicitta of the Holy Guru!

May you have good health and live long for the sake of all sentient beings!

I would like to congratulate the successful meeting of the American dharma brothers!

May all sentient beings achieve the happiness of Buddha nature!

May the Covid-19 epidemic will end soon!

    Om mani padme hum!

    Dear Guru,
I am very happy with the success of the 2nd US Dharma meeting, especially the presence of the Guru with valuable teaching.
I am impressed with the English improvement of the Guru, who have just learnt English for only one year, but you can give us – your learner a beautiful speech in an effective manner. Moreover, your words are so clear, simple and consice which make your advices are so easy to understand, easy to remember to follow and practice.
I admire with your wisdom and bodhicitta. Many of people at the same age with you will choose to retire, choose to live a comfortable life, with no worries, even no care to others. But the Guru, you spent more than 25 years reasearching, applying, practicing and getting the good results with the invention of Pure Mind Yoga, which bring unthinkable benefits to learners and practioners. Furthermore, the Guru spent time to learn foreign languages in order to convey your teachings to many people in the world. The wisdom and compassion of the Guru is like a source of pure water that never runs dry.
I am happy to hear that, US Dharma friends are accepted to practice (1) Lotus Walking Dharani and (2) Meditation on Bodhicitta in order to get benefits towards the enlightenment path.
May the Guru have good health and live long for the sake of all sentient beings.
May all sentient beings attain the happiness of Buddha’s nature.
    May Covid-19 pandemic end soon.
    Om Mani Padme Hum.

  23. Tantra Mikaya ( Jane Blechstein) says:

Dear holy Guru. My heartfelt thanks for your articles and your wise words. I am deeply impressed how quickly and well you learned the English language. I have great respect and it gives me confidence that we can all learn anything at any time.
It was great to hear your Voices and Advices. We say here. Never make a fun of someone who speaks broken English. It means he know a other language. So Congratulations for your successful English Study
Nothing is permanent that was one of the first things I learned from you in your wise articles. Just as life is not permanent and we adapt to the new technical possibilities that give us the opportunity to be in contact in this way and to learn from your knowledge. We are all united by the Dharma and the pursuit of enlightenment.

And I know sometimes it is an arduous process to learn, understand and internalize new things. With you by our side and your valuable advice, we can learn and follow the Dharma. I know that I should deepen a lot in order to learn more effectively.
The aim of our holy guru is the development of our own mind, to attain “Buddha-nature”.

For us, going for refuge means walking the Buddha’s path and following his teaching. We need a refuge that is outside of samsara, the cycle of death and rebirth. Other people can never offer refuge because they are still trapped in this cycle and their concepts. Our holy Guru helps us to recognize the important and essential values and to experience and live the Dharma independently in daily life. Through your valuable advice on meditation, bodhicitta, chants and prayers, we learn how important it is to transform ourselves.

Buddha basically summarized the essence of his teaching in the “Four Noble Truths”. They should help to see through life and to cope with it.Our ignorance and failure to understand the true nature of things is the cause of all suffering. But what do we not understand? Our untrained mind is unable to perceive that the seer, the seen and the seeing are mutually dependent. They do not exist independently of one another and also not on their own. Incidentally, Buddha’s explanations coincide with the findings of the theory of relativity and quantum theory, according to which the properties of matter depend on the observer. It is the dilemma of the subjectivity of knowledge. Your Teaching is so helpful to understand and to practice the Dharma. May all be happy and healthy

In its true nature, our mind is open like space, a kind of timeless container that lets everything appear, embraces and connects with one another. Hence the mind cannot die like the body. The mind exists continuously over an infinite number of existences. The aim of all Buddhist endeavors is enlightenment. In this state, our limited ideas and conceptual worlds dissolve. We no longer think in either-or categories, but are connected to everything and consciously linger in the here and now. These wise teachings should help us walk the path of enlightenment. With the help and advice of our holy guru we will be able to be successful. May our holy Guru life long for the sake of all sentient beings. May all beings achieve the Happiness of Buddhas Nature 🙏 OM MANI PADME HUM

    • Nguyên Thành
      Nguyên Thành says:

Thank you for your comment! I am glad to see you gradually understand the impermanent essence of samsara world and immerse in the Buddhist teachings through my articles. I hope that the teachings help you in your life as well, like many others disciples and learners. Just as studying a language, even though someone is a beginner and he may speak broken English, he is getting to speak the language fluently in the future. Likewise, someone who determines to study Dharma and follow Buddhism in general, or Pure Mind Dharma in particular, that person should be respected as he is going to escape the samsara´s sufferings by the light of true Dharma. Be proud of yourself as you are among those people who accumulate good deeds and have a meaningful life. I hope to read your comment more frequently on chanhtuduy.com. Om mani padme hum.

  24. Tantra Dharma Sunyata says:

    My Dear Holy Guru,
I read with delight and relish the paper titled’Some of Guru’s Thoughts to the Second US online Dharma Meeting’.Incidentally, on the invitation of Coordinator Violet,I participated in that Dharm Meeting. My Observations on those powerful Thoughts of our Guru are as follows:
    A.Summary of what I understood.
1.The second US online Dharma Meeting (Sangha) was attended by 42 learners with Tantra Mahacita (Robert Clayton Jr.) as Coordinator.
2.Our Guru bestowed guidelines, pieces of advice, lavish prayers and blessings on the meeting.Guru assured participants that so long as they are learning Pure Mind Yoga, they are his Disciples and accordingly he had Spiritual responsibility over them all, distance of origin or location notwithstanding.Guru appreciated the volume of time and effort invested by participants to score success in the first and second Dharm online meeting.
3.Our Guru proceeded to enumerate six spiritual methods devised by his Tantra House that were especially suitable for working/household Disciples. These include:
a.Taking Refuge in the Three Jewels and in the eight-fold path leading to True Nature of Mind.
b.Samadhi: Light of wisdom achieved from True Meditation through penetrating Right View.
    c.Uninterupted Offering.
    f.Lotus Walking Dharani.
    e.Meditating Buddhichitta.
f.Five Degrees of Cherezig Meditation Dharani.
5.Our Guru appealed to Disciples to apply Dharma everyday in daily life while eating, working, sleeping relaxing, playing games, etc.
5.Our Guru reminded Disciples that in order to obtain spiritual and other benefits, they are well advised to subscribe to:
    a.Lotus Dharani.
    b.Meditation on Buddhichitta.
,6.Our Guru finally admonished Disciples never to be absent from Dharma Meetings; to listen and critically follow the Guru.
7.Thereafter,our Guru handed the meeting over to Tantra Mahacita ( Robert Clayton Jr.).
B.Lessons to be learned from Guru’s Message.
1.The importance of Sangha (Dharma Meeting) for cross-fertilization of ideas, for mutual edification and for receiving special messages from the Guru.
2.The critical importance of applying Dharma and the six methods advanced earlier in our daily lives.
3.Critically listening and following the Guru at All times.
    C.Questions.
Is it possible to teach Disciples how exactly to PRACTICE True Meditation, Meditation of Buddhichitta and Five Degrees of Cherezig Meditation? Can these be taught from far away Vietnam where the Guru resides?
D.Conclusion.These remarks by our Guru are auspicious, awe-inspiring and timeless.May our Guru ever continue to nurture and illuminate us towards Enlightenment.
May the Guru ever continue to enjoy good health coupled with Long Life for service to all sentient beings.
    Om Mani Padme Hum

Thank you for your comment! You may have read other articles on chanhtuduy.com about the real meaning of meditation. According to the great achiever Marpa: “Apart from three sessions of practice in holy space, the yogi practices Dharma uninterruptedly in daily life, like a non-stop flowing river. This is called mind purification that frees us from ignorance. Non-distraction means meditation”. So as long as you keep reading, commenting, and reflecting on the lessons that you learned from the articles, then applying them in your daily life, you are practicing meditation. Otherwise, the Guru will decide when and how a learner or disciple will be taught or transferred Dharma, it does not work the other way around.

Thank you so much for your article dear Guru. I am always happy to read.
Your English is becoming very good. I am very impressed. I did not speak English either so long time. And it is not always easy with the grammar. But you are doing well.

  27. Vinimon*☻♥☺ VINcent sIMON says:

I was sorry to have mist the first two U.S.A online Dharma sessions and was surprised to read on the website www.http://chanhtuduy.com/, that you only have been learning to speak English for only a year, we have it easy here in Europe because when learning a different language, chances are that it will be a Germanic language, like Italian, French or English and are all of Germanic origin so door in English is deur in dutch and poort in dutch is La porte in French and that is not eve taking into consideration the multiple times in History our little country was conquered , so yes the primordial language at the root or stem is always the same origin. So I think that is actually good news, you know now that I come to think of it, once you learn English, French, Italian and Spanish will be a piece of cake 😅, just kidding we all speak English these days… Also I would like to commend your assistants for the translation and transcription because it must be very difficult getting the grammar seamlessly correct and dare I say a labour of love I suspect, always gives more than it takes in the end and it shows you have a good dynamic because the words you chose to share with us came from a warm place and the truth was never brighter while speaking your eyes spoke volumes and I thank you for that, it is a rare thing to see a honest loving blancet in these eye of the storm times we live in.

May ambition of politics and the greed of panindustries be crushed by the dissolution and illusion of borders and the lie of money so to make way for the truth of Scientists proof that this molecule most terrible doesn’t get the chance to mutate its mRNA and we can boast in short order a multi spectrum vaccination of empathy solidarity and common sense for the third world countries that will need much more than free vaccines.

P.S. If you don’t mind me asking, do you have names for all your cat’s and do you have a favorite one?
