Letter from CANADA: Dear Guru, I am not destined to be a Catholic! (Thầy ơi, duyên nghiệp của con không thuộc về Thiên chúa giáo!)

To the holy Guru,

I would like to thank you for your generosity in which helps me to read the articles and your teachings on the site of I am touched by your compassion and I am admired of your wisdom. I would like to write some words about what I learn from the Guru’s article.

Jeffrey from Canada

Firstly, I want to write why I have chosen to learn Buddhism. I was born Catholic but I have chosen to study and learn Buddhism because Buddhism points us to lasting values in this impermanent world, and gives us valuable information about how things really are. Through understanding the law of cause and effect, practicing daily dharma to gain insight and develop compassion and wisdom, we can tap into our potential to realize the ultimate goal of Enlightenment. As a beginner to Buddhism, it is my initial understanding that happiness and joy do not depend on outer conditions, but on the experience of mind itself. Transforming the mind is something that greatly appeals to me and so I look forward to learning more about Buddhism and to transform my mind, into ultimate reality! Om Mani Padme Hum.

I am really impressed by the methods of reciting Om Mani Padme Hum with Bodhicitta. In doing dharma practice every day, especially with bodhicitta, helps everyone and myself to be free from the oceans of samsaric suffering as quickly as possible and to achieve full Enlightenment, peerless happiness, and omniscient mind. I remembered Trulshik Rinpoche wrote that: “If you are able to generate bodhicitta, it will be the cause of every happiness for yourself and others, and all the suffering you encounter in your daily life will be dispelled. Whether we and our fellow beings experience happiness or suffering, whether we have peace or violence in the world, depends entirely on the condition of our minds. The mind is what determines whether there will be happiness or suffering; our states of mind are what makes our actions negative or positive. Therefore, may those who have not already generated this excellent and precious noble mind work very hard to develop it. May those who have already generated bodhichitta try their best not to impair it, working hard to increase love and compassion so that it continues to grow.”

Beisdes, the Heart Sutra are a constant companion with me and I recite it and think about the meaning of this wise and profound book of deep teaching. All Bodhisattva’s take refuge in the Heart Sutra and the great mantra of Prajnaparamita heals all suffering. Gate gate, paragate, parasangate, bodhi svaha! And through the Guru’s teachings, I know that reciting Mani Mantra with Bodhicitta will help me to get the Prajnaparamita with the Guru’s permission.
And the most important thing is that following the Guru’s teachings is the best way to learn proper dharma practice and as an initiate to Buddhism, I am much appreciative of the Guru’s efforts. Like the saying by Kyabje Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche “When an enlightened master who has wisdom and compassion meets a disciple who has faith and diligence, it is as if the sun’s rays where suddenly concentrated through a magnifying glass and focused onto dry grass, causing it to burst into flames, at once. In the same way, the blessings we receive will correspond directly to the intensity of our devotion.”

Om Mani Padme Hum.

After reading the Guru’s articles. I believe there are important qualities that a Guru should possess. The Guru must first of all follow the precepts and vows of a Bodhisattva. He must have studied in depth the teachings of the path of the Bodhisattva. His understanding must be deep and have truly experienced the teachings. The Guru must feel sincere compassion toward all sentient beings. He must be fearless and show much courage, not only in his own actions but also when he teaches others. The Guru must be tolerant and patient with his students and practice. He must be tenacious and not allow himself to be carried away by disappointment or discouragement. Finally, the Guru must be capable of communicating effectively with students. By reading the teacher’s articles, the ideal qualifications of a proper Guru are indeed exemplified. Om Mani Padme Hum.

While reading the Guru’s articles, I am also seeing the pictures of Song Nguyen Tantra House and dharma friends. I have never visited Song Nguyen Tantra House, but I look forward to the day of my first visit there. I am a foreigner living in Canada and I’m also an interested student of Buddhism. I have heard wonderful things about Song Nguyen Tantra House. And even more beautiful are the stories that I have heard about the excellent Guru in charge of Song Nguyen Tantra House. To one day be in the presence of the benevolent Master, with his profound experiences and knowledge, in the way of rescuing us restless sentient beings, will be pure joy indeed. And to meet my fellow dharma friend’s at the Ashram will be supreme happiness as well.

Lotus Flower Estrade in Song Nguyen Tantra House

I pray the Guru and his consort and the dharma friend’s at Song Nguyen Tantra House all the best healthy wishes to enlighten Buddha’s nature. Om Mani Padme Hum.
May the holy Guru live long for the benefit of all sentient beings
May the Guru’s teachings flourish all over the world for the sake of sentient beings.
May the sientient beinsg free from the suferings and its causes.
Om Mani Padme Hum.

  1. Dear Jeffrey,

I am very much impressed by your sharing. That is one of the most outstanding reason for us to acknowledge that Buddhism is no where to be divided: there is no difference between countries, nationalities, languages or especially the origin of the Guru. By their ego, people tend to give thought that they deserve one particular kind of Guru which they cannot make any definition themselves. Instead of that, you are kind of rare people to be found who express the gratitude by all your heart, though the distance is not close and you don’t even know where it is. I am so moved to read the part of the Guru’s qualities that you come to realize and find in our Guru. Thank you very much for sharing. It is meaningful to me to look back on my own and I am going to be definitely sincerer to my blessing to be destined as a disciple of our Guru.

I am looking forward to seeing you at Song Nguyen Tantra House one day, in the near future.

May all your wishes come true.

May all the sentient being achieve the Buddha’s happiness.

    Om Mani Padme Hum.

I do look forward to one day visiting Song Nguyen Tantra House, and meeting all the wonderful dharma friend’s. Blessings to you and may you achieve the happiness of Buddha nature. Om Mani Padme Hum

    Dear Jeffrey Bernard Forest

The teachings of the Buddha are incredibly so vast that probably no one could even read through them once in a single lifetime, let alone practice all of them. And yet, in Vajrayana’s path, we do not have to go through that process. The entire vajrayana path can be traversed in less time than it takes to read through the sutras. We can make it thanks to the vastly knowledgeable Guru with logical and scientific methods of practice extracted from his lifetime’s practice and experiences. That’s the reason why in Vajrayana or Tantrayana, the Guru is viewed as the embodiment of the trikaya (three bodies: Buddha, Dharma and Sangha); the overlord of all buddha families; the principle of all the mandalas and the embodiment in the single form of all Yidams. Like you, I really feel lucky to find out an authentic Guru when read which stores more than 1,300 articles and 200 audio-discourses. Through them, the Guru guides us in ways that nurture our inspiration to attain the supreme reality the Buddha has pointed out. He shows us the best and most suitable ways to maintain uninterrupted Dharma learning in our busy life, which not many Gurus can do. Soygal Rinpoche once said that there was only one way of attaining liberation and of obtaining the omniscience of enlightenment: following an authentic spiritual master. But how to attend the Guru, how to relate to Guru, fundamentally it all comes down to devotion. The Guru Rinpoche taught that:”Although your Guru’s merit is as much as layers of cloud, the blessing rain will never fall down unless you have a field of devotion”. I am so delightful to read your comment that are filled with Guru devotion and to know that a fellow Dharma friend in the faraway picturesque land is following the Guru’s teachings everyday.

Thank you for sharing with us amazingly beautiful thought about the Guru and fellow Dharma friends in Song Nguyen Tantra House. Looking forward to seeing you in Song Nguyen House in a very near future.

May Guru live long for the sake of all sentient beings
May you fully achieve fruition of all efforts in the journey to enlightenment.
May all sentient beings be surrounded by the blessings of the Three Jewels.
    Om Ah Hum

    Guru is my guide

    Buddha is my life

    Dharma is my way

    Sangha is my Spirit

Respected Guruji, I bow my head at the lotus feet of Guruji.

    I am Tantra Nirvadeva.

Transforming the mind into ultimate reality is his wish and like of Mr. Jeffrey Bernard Forest from Canada who has addressed this letter to Guruji with high respects and regards. He has rightly said that Bodhicitta generates real happiness and removes suffering in life.!

His constant companion is ” Om Mani Padme Hum”( Heart Suthra) which recieves anybody ‘s appreciation. Though he is a Catholic, he is attracted by Buddha’s teachings and has strong inclination towards BUDDHISM which attracts many a people like from other religions and countries like Magnet  by it’s principles and philosophy.!

Mr. Jeffrey rightly says that the Guru’s teachings is the best way to learn proper Dharma practices and Buddhism which is undoubtedly correct and highly appreciated.! His longing for visiting Song NguyenTantra House and meeting Dharma Practicioners is also worthy of appreciation.Visiting such holy places not only enrich our spiritual knowledge, but also purify our mind by eradication of negative thoughts.!

I wonder a disciple or a follower or a lay Dharma Practicioner dare enough to attempt to remind Guru how a Guru should be!. Having all those virtual qualities only, Guru has attained the status of a perfect Guru, the director of Song Nguyen Tantra House is teachings all the sentient beings through!

I am of the opinion when an Enlightened Master meets his faithful and diligent disciple, their conjoint spiritual power should throw light and show the path of Enlightenment and Liberation to all sentient beings rather than like burning dry grass passing through a magnifying lens.!

    Om Mani Padme Hum.

Long live our beloved Guruji for upholding Dharma.

    Dr C H Lakshminarayan.
